Cops probe Valley Stream store robbery

Fifth Squad detectives are looking for two men who used a handgun Wednesday night to rob a Valley Stream discount eyeglass store of cash and sunglasses, Nassau County police said.

According to a report, two men entered Cheaper Peepers, 12 Green Acres Rd., at about 6:47 p.m.

One of the men pulled a handgun from under his shirt, police said, and demanded money. After getting cash from the register, the suspects also grabbed a handful of sunglasses, police said.

The men left the store and ran west on Sidney Place, police said.
