An Ozone Park man faces weapon and drug charges after being pulled over for speeding early Sunday morning on the Southern State Parkway in Hempstead, State Police said.

Brian Harnath, 20, of 149-23 Lefferts Blvd., was driving a black Audi east on the parkway at about 4:05 a.m. when he was stopped for speeding near Exit 19, Peninsula Boulevard, police said.

Troopers said they saw clear plastic bags containing what appeared to be marijuana inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle also produced a .45-caliber handgun in the truck, according to a news release.

Harnath was arrested and is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlicensed operation of a vehicle and other traffic violations, police said.

Arraignment information at First District Court in Hempstead was not immediately available.
