A Queens man was arrested Friday and charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint in Hempstead and holding her at his home until she agreed to renew their relationship, Nassau police said.

Patrice D. Donely Jr., 25, of 110-72 199 St., Hollis, was charged with second-degree kidnapping, menacing, and criminal contempt.

Donely's 27-year-old ex-girlfriend had a stay away order of protection against Donely, police said, but at 1:30 a.m. Friday, while she was at the Hempstead Bus Terminal, he produced a gun and forced her into his car.

Donely drove her to his home, dragged her from the car and into the garage, police said, where he threatened to kill her and himself if they did not get back together again.

After she agreed to renew their relationship, he drove her to her home and left, police said, and she reported the incident.

Donely called her about 2 p.m. from the Jiffy Lube location at 232 Jericho Tpke., Mineola, police said, and Third Squad detectives went there and made the arrest.

Donely was to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court, Hempstead.
