Cops: Queens woman carjacked at LI mall
A Queens woman told police she was car-jacked at gunpoint Sunday night after shopping at the Americana Manhasset shopping center on Northern Boulevard.
Nassau County police said the 34-year-old woman, who lives in Astoria, told them she had returned to her 2008 Volvo at about 7:45 p.m., started the car and placed her shopping bags in the trunk.
When she got into the car she told police she found a man with a gun who pointed it at her — and told her to get out. Police said the victim told them the man then drove westbound on Northern Boulevard and the southbound towards the Long Island Expressway.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
All calls will remain confidential, police said.
