A man robbed two Nassau County banks in less than a week, police said in releasing surveillance images of the suspect.

During the afternoon robberies, at Roslyn Savings Banks in West Hempstead on Nov. 14 and in Freeport on Nov. 22, the man passed the tellers notes demanding cash and also made oral threats, police said. He threatened to use a gun unless he got the money he demanded.

The two robbed branches are on Hempstead Turnpike and South Main Street in Freeport.

In each case, the suspect fled in an unknown direction.

Police departments on Long Island typically don't reveal the amount stolen so as not to encourage future robberies.
