Cops: Robber demands cash with hot chocolate
The man at the walk-up window ordered a hot chocolate. Then, Nassau County police said, he displayed a handgun -- and robbed the Dunkin' Donuts on Sunrise Highway in Merrick early Tuesday morning.
Police did not say how much money was taken in the 4:50 a.m. robbery. The store employee was not injured, police said.
Police said the suspect was described as about 5-foot-7, 125 pounds, and was wearing a dark shirt, sunglasses and a gray scarf that covered his face. He carried a black handgun, police said, and fled on foot.
Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
