Cops: Robber hits two Nassau banks
Police are seeking a robber detectives believe hit two Nassau County banks in 23 minutes on Thursday.
The suspect attempted to rob a Citibank branch at 2301 Jericho Tpke. in Garden City Park, at 4:40 p.m., Nassau police said in a Friday morning news release.
Police believe the suspect then went to another Citibank branch, this one at 1524 Union Tpke. in New Hyde Park, at 5:03 p.m. and "passed a note demanding money to a teller," police said. He made off with "an unknown amount" of money and fled, police said.
The first robbery attempt was "by similar means," police said.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
The suspect was described as about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, in his late 20s to early 30s, with a medium build, "wearing a dark colored skull cap and dark colored clothing," police said.
