Cops: Robber of Hicksville bank may have struck twice
Police are investigating the Tuesday afternoon robbery of a Hicksville bank by a man who fled on a bicycle.
The robbery occurred at 2:42 p.m. at the Citibank at 255 N. Broadway, Nassau police said.
The robber - in his 30s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build wearing a faded baseball cap, a white- and orange-striped, long-sleeved shirt and jeans - handed a teller a note demanding money, Nassau police said.
He took an unknown amount and fled on the bike, police said.
Nine workers and six customers were in the bank at the time. No one was injured.
Police said the suspect "appears to match a description of an individual who committed a similar robbery" at a Massapequa Bank of America on May 27.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept anonymous.
