Detectives are investigating a Sunday night robbery in which a stun gun was used on a Chinese food deliveryman in Freeport, police said.

The 36-year-old victim was making a delivery to a Broadway address at 10:45 p.m., and when he arrived "he tried calling the telephone number given, but was quickly disconnected," Nassau County police said in a news release. "As the victim walked past the stairway door, he noticed two unknown male suspects with masks."

One of the suspects placed a stun gun to the back of the victim's neck and used it, "which caused him to fall to the ground," police said.

The suspect then punched and kicked the victim and took his wallet and iPhone, police said, before fleeing. The victim declined medical attention.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
