A Roosevelt man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Freeport man found on the tracks at the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road station early Saturday, police said.

Police, who had received a call at 4:50 a.m. that the 49-year-old victim had suffered a seizure on the platform, said a verbal dispute between the victim and another man turned into a fight and the victim fell onto the tracks. The cause of death is unclear, an MTA spokesman said.

A joint investigation by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Nassau County police departments led to the arrest of Niheim Levy, 34, of 58 Bennett Ave., Roosevelt. Levy is being charged with felony murder and first-degree robbery, police said.

He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead Sunday morning.

The victim's identity is being withheld until his family has been notified, police said.

Earlier in the morning, LIRR service was suspended between Wantagh and Freeport because of police activity, but it was later restored, officials said.

After hours-long delays, the LIRR was back on its normal schedule about 3:30 p.m., an LIRR spokesman said.
