A social worker from Freeport faces a felony rape charge because of his "sexual activity" with a 16-year-old girl, Nassau County police's special victims unit said Friday.

Detectives said Robert Kaiming Chiu, 44, of 74 Frankel Ave., was a family development worker for the Nassau County Economic Opportunity Commission assigned to the Roosevelt/Freeport office when he repeatedly engaged in "sexual activity" with the girl, "who was associated with the EOC in an undisclosed capacity."

Chiu was arrested at the commission office, 281 Babylon Tpke., Roosevelt, on Thursday at 4:50 p.m., police said.

He is charged with third-degree rape and committing a criminal sexual act, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
