Cops: Roslyn Heights man charged in stabbing
A 32-year-old Roslyn Heights man was arrested Sunday evening, charged with stabbing a 50-year-old man in the head, face and arm in a dispute over money, police said.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital after the stabbing at about 6:40 p.m. in Roslyn Heights. He received 21 stitches, Nassau County police said.
The suspect, Owin Thomas, of 166 B Laurel St., was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal contempt. He is scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said the criminal contempt charge against Thomas stems from an open warrant issued in Family Court on Jan. 1 and said the criminal mischief charge is from an incident on April 29.
