Cops search for attempted robbery suspect
Nassau police are searching for a suspect who they say threatened a man and attempted to rob him as he walked to his car in Elmont early Sunday morning.
The 49-year-old victim was walking to his car, parked on Cromer Road West, at about 3:35 a.m. when a red sports car drove up beside him. A man got out of the car and threatened to use a weapon on the victim, police said.
The victim ran away and called police. When police arrived, they found that the victim's car had been rifled through, but nothing had been taken. No one was injured.
The suspect was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black baseball cap.
Anyone with more information on this case is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-244-TIPS.
