Nassau Police are looking for a pair of armed assailants who stole cash and a cellphone from two young men early Sunday morning in Freeport.

The robbery occurred at about 2:45 a.m. in front of 188 Woodside Avenue when two unidentified males -- one brandishing a handgun and demanding money -- approached two male victims, police said.

The victims, ages 20 and 21, handed over a cellphone and an unknown amount of money, police said. The assailants left on foot and no one was injured, police said.

Police described the suspect who brandished the weapon as a male with a thin build and long curly hair, wearing a red hat, a black tank top, white Adidas pants and a red ski mask covering his face.

The unarmed suspect was about 18 to 20 years old and was wearing blue jeans.

Police ask anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous.
