Police are seeking two suspects in the robbery of a bodega in Hempstead on Friday. The two men pepper sprayed and tied up a clerk before fleeing with cash.

Nassau County police said the robbery at El Rey on Franklin Avenue occurred about 11:30 a.m. The two men asked the 35-year-old clerk for assistance, police said, then pepper-sprayed him, punched and kicked him and bound him up before robbing the register.

The clerk was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
