A man stole a wallet from the glove compartment of a car parked in an unlocked garage on 2nd Street in Garden City then used the credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at Roosevelt Field Mall, police said.

Nassau County police said they're asking anyone with information regarding the November theft to contact Crime Stoppers.

Police said the incidents took place on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 between noon and 8 a.m.

It was then, police said, that the man stole the wallet and "contents" from a glove compartment in a vehicle parked in the garage then used the stolen credit cards to make "several fraudulent purchases" at Roosevelt Field.

Anyone with information is asked to call 800-244-TIPS.

All calls will remain confidential, police said.
