Police are searching for a man who they said was caught on surveillance video using a stolen bank card at a Merrick supermarket in December. The card had been among those stolen from a woman's pocketbook, police said.
Nassau County police said the theft occurred while the woman was shopping at the Waldbaum's on Merrick Road on Dec. 18 at 1:45 p.m.
A short time later, police said, a man was seen using one of the cards to purchase items.
Police are trying to determine his identity -- and are asking for assistance.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
