A 41-year-old woman was attacked and robbed by another woman in a store parking lot in Freeport Sunday morning, Nassau County police said.

The attacker punched the victim in the face at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Henry Street, took $65 from the victim's pocketbook and fled northbound across Sunrise toward the Long Island Rail Road Station, police said.

The robbery took place just before 10 a.m.

Police said a man also may have been involved.

The victim suffered swelling and cuts to her face, but declined medical attention at the scene. Police said the female robber was described as having "a heavy build" and she was wearing black pants, a waist length jacket and a red bandanna. She had a piercing in her left upper lip, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
