Crime Stoppers is looking for a man caught on surveillance video who is sought in connection with a robbery at the Shamrock gas station on Clinton Street in Hempstead, Nassau County police said. (Jan. 2, 2013) Credit: NCPD

Crime Stoppers is looking for a man who robbed a Hempstead gas station at gunpoint, Nassau County police said Wednesday.

At about 4:19 a.m. Jan. 2, the suspect, armed with a handgun, took an unspecified amount of cash from the Shamrock station at 404 Clinton St., police said.

Police on Wednesday released photographs of the suspect taken from video surveillance at the station.

After taking the cash, the suspect ran westbound on Lincoln Boulevard, police said.
