Cops seek two in Valley Stream robbery
A man sitting in a car in Valley Stream was robbed by two men after, police said, one of them tapped on his window - and asked for a cigarette.
The robbery occurred Saturday at 11:26 p.m. on Gibson Avenue, Nassau County police said. Now police are searching for the two robbers.
Police said the 27-year-old victim was in his car when one of the robbers tapped on his car window, asking for a smoke. The robber then opened the door and sat in the front passenger seat, stating he had a gun - and telling the man to empty his pockets.
Police said a gun was never displayed.
A second man came to driver's side window and punched the victim in the face.
The two men then fled north on Gibson and east on South Brush Drive after the robbery, police said. Cash and an iPhone were stolen. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-224-TIPS.
