A speeding North Baldwin man trying to elude police rammed a State Police car Monday on the Southern State Parkway in North Valley Stream before he was finally stopped by Nassau County officers, State Police said.

A trooper tried to stop a Nissan for driving 91 mph in a 55 mph zone near Exit 15, Corona Avenue, in North Valley Stream, at about 11:12 p.m., State Police said.

The driver, Naresh Singh, 21, of 11 Beech St., exited the parkway at Corona Avenue, made several turns, then struck a State Police car as he tried to make a U-turn, police said.

The trooper's car was disabled, but he called Nassau County police, who caught Singh a short time later.

Singh is charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and several other traffic violations, police said. His arraignment information was not immediately available.
