A Uniondale man was arraigned Saturday on a felony DWI charge after troopers pulled him over for driving 90 mph on the Southern State Parkway in Roosevelt, State Police said.

Jose Bravo, 30, was speeding on the parkway in a red Toyota in a 55 mph zone, near the Meadowbrook State Parkway exit, at about 2:45 a.m., police said.

Troopers said Bravo had bloodshot, watery eyes and slow, slurred speed. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.

Police said Bravo also provided a breath-analyzer sample of .14 percent alcohol.

He is charged with felony DWI because of a previous drunken-driving conviction in the past 10 years, police said.

He was arraigned Saturday and is being held on $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Troopers also said a Medford man faces charges of DWI and drug possession after he was stopped for driving 20 mph under the speed limit Saturday on the Southern State Parkway in North Wantagh.

Matthew Grady, 23, of Medford, was driving a tan Toyota at 35 mph in a 55 mph zone on the parkway near the Wantagh Avenue exit at about 3:59 a.m., police said.

Grady also was driving with his high-beam headlights turned on, police said.

Troopers said they detected "an odor of alcoholic beverage" on Grady as they interviewed him and that he also had bloodshot, water eyes.

He failed sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.

Police said Grady also had a "small amount of Ecstasy," a methamphetamine.

Grady is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI and traffic violations.

He is scheduled to appear Feb. 10 in First District Court in Hempstead.
