A Massapequa man arrested when authorities said he used a stolen credit card at a 7-Eleven, 4350 Merrick Rd. Massapequa, on Friday is also a suspect in a string of thefts from cars in the area during the past week, Nassau police said Sunday.

Police charged Keith Barkan, 18, with grand larceny and identity theft after detectives said he took wallets, purses and GPS devices from cars in five incidents between Sept. 2 and Saturday.

The cars were parked on Berkeley Place, Lucille Court and Massapequa Avenue.

Barkan was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
