Nassau County police say they have a suspect in custody who was found hiding inside a closed Franklin Square restaurant Sunday after a security alarm had been triggered.

At 4:48 p.m. police said they got an alarm call from the Alpine Restaurant on Franklin Avenue. Through a window, police said they spotted an individual or individuals inside the shuttered restaurant.

A perimeter was set up to prevent an escape and the property searched, police said. One suspect was taken into custody. Further details, including the gender of the suspect and the charges that may be involved, were not immediately available.
