An 89-year-old Syosset man was killed Friday after his sport utility vehicle struck a parked landscaping truck in Syosset, Nassau police said.

Police identified the victim Saturday as Edward Pottick.

Police said Pottick was driving a 2005 Toyota RAV4 south on Split Rock Road just after 3 p.m. when he struck the truck, which was parked at Sagamore Drive.

The ramp on the truck was down, which caused the Toyota to flip on its side and partially eject the man, according to police.

Pottick was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Syosset Fire Department, police said.

Police said there was no criminality suspected in the crash.
