Nassau County police arrested a suspect and are seeking another one in an alleged robbery in Uniondale on Friday evening.

Nickles H. Sample, 17, of Hempstead was arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead on charges of second-degree robbery and leaving the scene of an incident. His bail was set at $5,000 bond or $2,500 cash; he is due back in court Tuesday.

Detectives said Sample approached a 17-year-old male victim at 6:20 p.m. Friday in the McDonald's parking lot at 1110 Hempstead Tpke. Sample told the victim to get out of his car and a second suspect began punching the victim in the head, demanding money, police said.

Sample then reached into the victim's vehicle and grabbed an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

Both suspects fled in a 2000 Ford driven by Sample and struck the victim's vehicle before exiting the parking lot, police said.

Police said the victim led detectives to Sample's home, at 123 Emery St., where he was arrested without incident. The second suspect is still being sought by police and has not been identified.

There were no reported injuries, police said.
