A Brooklyn teen is facing robbery charges after police say he stole from a Valley Stream Walmart and pulled a knife on a worker who tried to stop him Friday.

Walmart employees say they saw Jose Colon, 16, removing portable hard drives from their packaging and putting them and several CDs into his pockets and then proceeding past all points of purchase into the vestibule, where he was stopped by a store employee, according to Nassau County police.

When the store security worker asked Colon, of Dewitt Avenue in Brooklyn, for the items, police say he pulled out a knife from his waistband and threatened to stab the worker.

He then fled the store, but was arrested by Fifth Squad detectives investigating the robbery at 8:55 p.m. in Valley Stream, police said.

There were no reported injuries, police said. Neither the merchandise nor the weapon have been recovered.

Colon is charged with first degree robbery and will be arraigned on Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
