Nassau County police arrested a Plainview teen early Tuesday, and accused him of driving while intoxicated after he crashed in Syosset.
Police said William A. Kapp, 18, was driving his 2006 Buick east on Jericho Turnpike at 1:55 a.m. with a 17-year-old female passenger when he lost control of the sedan, striking the center median and causing the vehicle to overturn in a wooded area.
Both were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, officers said.
Authorities investigated the scene near the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway ramp and determined that Kapp had been driving drunk, police said.
He was taken into custody and is charged with drunken driving, second-degree assault and second-degree vehicle assault, police said.
He is expected to be arraigned at a later date.
