Cops: Teen hit by car on Hempstead street

A 14-year-old boy playing soccer was hit by a car about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Front Street, according to police.

Hempstead Village Police Sgt. Mark Kirichenko said the teen was being treated at Nassau University Medical Center. His injuries were fairly serious, Kirichenko said.

Further information was not immediately available.

The case was being investigated.
