Cops: Teen on scooter robbed of iPod

A teen riding his scooter Monday night in Freeport was approached by two men in a car, one of whom punched him in the face -- then stole his iPod, police said.

The robbery occurred on Craig Avenue near Main Street just before midnight.

Nassau County police said a police ambulance crew treated the victim, identified only as a 19-year-old, at the scene.

Police said the teen had lacerations and bruising, but did not require hospitalization.

Police said the robbers were traveling in an older-model white Toyota Camry.
