A teenage pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle in New Cassel on Friday evening, Nassau police said.

The 19-year-old, hit at the intersection of Center and Grant streets at 6:48 p.m., was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment, police said.

There was no apparent criminality in the incident, police said.
