Nassau County police are looking for three teenaged girls who tried to rob another girl Thursday afternoon in Massapequa.

The 16-year-old victim was approached by the trio at about 3:20 p.m. near the corner of Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue as she walked home from school, police said. Police did not identify her school.

One of the girls demanded money, another kicked her books out of her hands and one of the trio tried to remove her pocketbook, police said, adding that there were no injuries.

One of the attackers was wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt, dark sweat pants and black Jordan sneakers with pink soles, police said.

Detectives urge anyone with information on the alleged attack to call Nassau County Crimestoppers at 800-244-8477
