Cops: Trooper hurt in Northern crash
A State Police trooper assisting a disabled motorist was injured when his vehicle was hit by a passing car on the Northern State Parkway in Westbury late Monday, police said.
Police said the injuries to the trooper were "non-life-threatening."
Police said the investigation into the accident was ongoing.
The crash occurred at about 11 p.m. on the westbound Northern State near Exit 29A -- the exit for the Long Island Expressway. Police said the trooper, whose name was not released, was assisting a disabled motorist when his vehicle was struck.
It was unclear whether there were other injuries.
