Two men with flashlights and screwdrivers were arrested in Roosevelt Wednesday morning after officers were called to a home burglary in progress, Nassau police said.

When officers arrived at a Hansom Place home just before 10:15 a.m., they saw Todd Hartshorne-raysor, 27, inside, holding property taken from the house, police said.

They asked him to leave the house, and when he and an accomplice, Marc G. Dangerfield, 39, ran to the front of the house, officers did the same and intercepted Hartshorne-raysor, police said.

Dangerfield was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The two were trying to steal copper piping and were charged with second-degree burglary and possession of burglar tools, police said.

The two men, both of 294 E. Clinton Ave. in Roosevelt, are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
