Cops: Two sought in attempted robbery in West Hempstead
Fifth Squad detectives are looking for two men who tried to rob a couple in front of their West Hempstead home Thursday night, Nassau County police said.
According to a police report, the couple was sitting on the front steps of their Eagle Avenue residence at about 10:35 p.m. when two men, armed with a silver handgun, approached them and told them to go into the house.
When one of the victims told the men they were being recorded on a video camera, the two fled on foot, running west on Eagle Avenue, police said.
No injuries were reported, police said.
