Two Merrick teenagers are charged with burglarizing Calhoun High School in Merrick, Nassau County police said Monday.

Matt Delucia, 17, of 19 Wynsum Ave., and Kevin Hassan, 16, of 2075 Oxford Pl., are charged with third-degree burglary. Police said they are students at the school.

Delucia also is charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property because he had a set of keys that were taken from the high school after police arrested them late Sunday, police said.

The school alarm went off at about 9 p.m. and a custodian, a 59-year-old man, responding to the alarm checked the school's security system, police said. After determining which room triggered the alarm, the custodian went there and found a male going through a desk.

First Precinct officers also responding saw two males leaving the building. They chased them on foot and arrested them on Relyea Drive, police said. The keys found in Delucia's possession were the only items stolen, police said.

The two were released after being arraigned Monday, and their cases were assigned to the adolescent diversion program.
