An 83-year-old woman was located by police about an hour after relatives reported her missing from her Valley Stream home.

Nassau County police said they found the woman, who has Alzheimer's disease, at 8:03 a.m. in the front seat of her husband's car, in her own driveway. She was unharmed.

Police said relatives of the woman, whose identity was not released, reported she had wandered away from her home on Rockaway Turnpike at about 7 a.m.

Police immediately notified patrol units and dispatched a helicopter to search the neighborhood for her.
