Cops: Weapons, drug charges for Elmont man
An Elmont man faces weapons and drug charges after Nassau County police Sunday afternoon found cocaine and handguns in his car near his residence, authorities said.
Police were investigating a disturbance on the street, about three blocks south of Hempstead Turnpike, at about 4 p.m. when Christopher Juno, 31, was found to be in possession of 68 grams of cocaine, an unspecified amount of cash, a 9-mm Jennings handgun and a .22 caliber Beretta handgun, the Fifth Squad said. The drugs, money and guns were found in Juno's car, according to a news release.
Juno, of 195 Hunnewell Ave., also had Percocet pills when he was arrested, police said.
He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
