Cops: Westbury bank robber gets $1G
Robbery Squad detectives in Nassau County are looking for a man who they say robbed a TD Bank in Westbury on Friday and got away with about $1,000.
Police said the unknown man entered the bank at 999 Old Country Rd., approached a teller and demanded money; he then ran west on Old Country Road.
Five customers and 12 employees were in the bank at the time of 12:55 p.m. robbery, but no injuries were reported, police said.
The suspect was described as 6-feet, 160 pounds, wearing a white and blue Yankees baseball hat, sunglasses, dark pants and a dark-colored jacket.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. Callers will remain anonymous.
