A Westbury man was arrested Wednesday and charged with intentionally striking a 60-year-old man with a car, police said.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical assistance, Nassau police said.

Agostino Romano, 62, of 7303 Bell Blvd., was charged with second degree assault.

Romano and another man drove to Best Buy, 1100 Old Country Rd., together in a 2011 Suzuki about 8 p.m., police said.

After a verbal altercation in the parking lot, the victim got out of the car and started walking away, police said. Romano placed the vehicle into drive and struck him, knocking him to the ground, police said.

Romano was taken into custody without incident, police said. He was arraigned Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead. Romano was released without bail, pending his next scheduled court appearance Monday.
