A Bayville woman is scheduled to appear in court later this month after being arrested and charged with falsely reporting her home had been burglarized, Nassau police said.

Police said Angela Bozzella-Blumhagen, 44, of 16 Bayville Ave., had moved several items, including a television and jewelry, to a neighbor's apartment -- then reported her residence was burglarized.

Police said the neighbor was unaware Bozzella-Blumhagen was making the claim. The incident was unrelated to superstorm Sandy, police said.

Bozzella-Blumhagen made the claim on Saturday.

An investigation uncovered the items, police said.

Bozzella-Blumhagen was charged with making a punishable false written statement and was issued a desk appearance ticket to appear for arraignment Nov. 30 in First District Court in Hempstead.
