Cops: Woman hit, killed crossing Sunrise Highway in Freeport

A pedestrian crossing Sunrise Highway in Freeport was struck and killed by a car Wednesday night, Nassau County police said.
Police did not immediately release the name of the 53-year-old female victim nor the identity of the 69-year-old male driver.
The victim was crossing the road near South Main Street from north to south about 10:15 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound 1990 Ford Mustang, police said.
Police said the accident was noncriminal.
