Cops: Woman robbed after leaving Rockville Centre LIRR station
Police are searching for two men they said attacked a woman as she exited the Long Island Rail Road station in Rockville Centre Sunday night, throwing her to the ground and stealing her cellphone.
The victim, identified only as a 36-year-old woman, suffered cuts and bruises to her face, arms and legs, police said.
Nassau County police said the robbery occurred on North Centre Avenue at 8:15 p.m.
The woman, who had just exited the station, was thrown to the ground by one of the suspects, while the second stole her phone, police said. The two men then fled the scene.
Police said the men are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s and are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
