Nassau County police are searching for a masked man who allegedly robbed a woman at knifepoint in the parking lot of a medical office building in Mineola on Friday evening.

Detectives said the 42-year-old victim was placing items into her vehicle parked at 120 Mineola Blvd. about 6:25 p.m. when a stranger approached her, displayed a knife and demanded money.

Police said the woman complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot toward Willis Avenue. Her purse was later recovered in the rear of a building at 203 Willis Ave., but an undetermined amount of money and "personal papers" were missing, police said.

There were no reported injuries, police said.

Detectives request anyone with information about the crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
