A woman was robbed in the parking lot of Sunrise Mall in East Massapequa Thursday night, Nassau County police said.

According to officials, the woman, 51, had just gotten into her car at 8:35 p.m. when a man grabbed her arm and purse while her car door was still open. The man then ran from the scene with her purse.

The woman was later transported to a hospital and treated for a broken arm, police said.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium build wearing a black hoodie and dark colored jacket.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
