Cops: Woman robbed outside Cedarhurst home

A 58-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint in front of her home on Adele Road in Cedarhurst Tuesday evening, Nassau County police said.

The woman, whose identity was not released, was not harmed. Police are searching for the gunman, who they said made off with her purse -- containing an undisclosed amount of cash and credit cards.

Police said the incident took place at about 6 p.m. and said the gunman may have fled the scene in a gray pickup truck.

The gunman is described as being in his 40s or early 50s, clean shaven and stocky.

He was wearing a hat or a hood, police said.
