Cops: Woman stabbed during Roosevelt street robbery
A 29-year-old woman was stabbed in the leg with a knife Tuesday while trying to stop one of three men fleeing a Roosevelt street robbery, Nassau police said.
The injured woman was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said. Additional information concerning her condition was not available.
She and a 33-year-old woman were putting suitcases into the trunk of a car on Conlon Road at 3 p.m., police said, when they were approached by two men who struggled with them.
A 40-year-old man attempted to stop the robbery, and also became involved in the struggle with the three men, police said. The robbers tried unsuccessfully to steal that man's vehicle, police said, before they fled with the two women's cash and personal belongings.
The suspects fled in a maroon minivan with a possible partial Pennsylvania plate of 846, police said.
Detectives asked that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
