Cops: Woman stole credit card from car
An Oyster Bay woman was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with breaking into a car and stealing a credit card last month in Syosset.
Liza E. Bagdan, 34, of South St., was arrested at about 1 a.m. at a family member's home in Oyster Bay Cove, Nassau County police said. She faces charges of fourth-degree grand larceny.
Police said Bagdan was identified from surveillance video taken at the building on Lafayette Drive where the theft occurred at 11:15 a.m. May 28.
It was then, police said, that Bagdan entered a 1999 BMW that was in the parking lot behind the building in Syosset, and was seen emptying the victim's purse. The victim, who was identified by police only as a woman, confronted Bagdan, then went back into the building to get assistance, police said. Police said that when the victim return Bagdan had fled, taking a Citibank credit card.
That card was not recovered, according to police.
Bagdan is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
