A Roosevelt woman was arrested Monday on charges she attempted to open a bank account using a counterfeit $100 bill and a fake driver's license, Nassau County police said.

Earlene Wilson, 67, of 210 E. Greenwich Ave., entered a Chase bank at 1696 Merrick Rd. in Merrick at about 3:40 p.m. and presented the phony bill and a fake New York State driver's license while trying to open an account, police said.

She was arrested on two counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument at the scene, police said.

She is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
