Cops: Women charged after fight in Lakeview
Two Hempstead women were arrested on multiple charges late Monday after getting into a fight in Lakeview, Nassau County police said.
Fourth Precinct officers responding to a call about a fight on Woodfield Road at about 11:15 p.m. found two woman in an altercation, police said.
One woman, Juanita Braxton, 26, of 50 Culvert St., was holding a knife on the other, Tammy Taylor, 43, of 40 Evans Ave., Bldg. 8, Apt. 4, police said.
Taylor had lacerations on her face, police said.
Braxton was ordered to drop the knife and was arrested, police said. Taylor was taken to a hospital where she was treated, police said. Braxton also was treated for a laceration to her left middle finger, police said.
An investigation revealed that Taylor had an open warrant in connection with menacing on Sept. 27, police said.
Braxton is charged with two counts assault and possession of a dangerous weapon, and Taylor is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing, police said. Each is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
